The Etruscan ruins in Volterra, the vineyards of Greve, Castellina and Radda and the famous wine and cheese towns of Montalcino, Montepulciano and Pienza are all easily accessible by scenic routes within a short drive.

The beautiful walled city of Lucca, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the ancient towns of Cortona and Arezzo are also easy one-day destinations for the adventurous.

In the middle of Val d'Elsa (Elsa river valley) along the ancient "Francigena Route" that made this land so artistically and culturally remarkable during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
